bonks' love of the Saturday morning cartoon lineup and cable network classics throughout her youth in the 90’s led her to practice her own characters whenever and wherever she could; a creative impulse that still persists today.  With time, the work of Dalí, Basquiat and street art as an entire subculture validated her belief that the simple and the strange can impact, disrupt and be just as meaningful as the technically traditional style that saturated her formal undergraduate education.
